My Christmas story

The stockings were hung on the railing with care. The tree was up with lights half strung. The blow up wouldn't blow and the bulbs had all burnt out. I sat with my wine and with thoughts of Oh crap, in my head! I can't get this done, why do I try? I just want to sip my wine and get by. So I sat for a while until the bottle was empty, then it came to me. I do have add oh my! Open ened projects thoughts soon forgotten. Can't sit still, so how will my Christmas ever get done? I don't know, but I am sure it will be fun!

With everything half done and a smile on my face, I settled down for a long winters nap. Me with my sleeping pill, Pop a snoring. While visions of chocolate bars danced, in the kids heads. A noise so loud it could awake the dead, I ran downstairs to see whats the matter. My family sleep like the dead, so for sure they were all still in their bed! My brave face on, what did I see but one big robber a taking my dam tree!

With my tired eyes and add in full action. I said awwww, take it all! It's half done anyway. So up in the am to Target I ran. Bought all new stuff and paid someone to decorate!! THE END

Glimmer of hope

Looking in your crying eye's, a glimmer of light I see. That is hope, that glimmer I see. I know you will find your way! Hold on tight and enjoy the ride, this is the only life you get. Don't look back and feel regretes, just take what you learned and move on. Life is short and not always sweet but enjoy the winding road.

Is that a glimmer, I see in your eye's of tears or just a glimpse of what might be? I see you smile and I know your ok. The tears of fear and sadness turned to tears of joy in a flash! You snap back like a rubber band no one can hold you down. Strong willed and determination will make those tears dry up! Yes, a glimmer of hope and joy, I do see. The light is a ray of hope from above! :)

A mothers poem

Waiting in the wind for you. Where did you go for so long? I miss you, in your room at night and the mess you left in the bathroom. I miss things, I never thought, I would. I miss you where did you go? What are you doing? Who are you talking to,walking with and thinking about? Where did you go for so long without a call?

Missing you and still loving you. My daughter, my oldest child, where did the time go? I blinked and you went from two to 20 like that! Where did you go, how are doing? These are things I think about often. I may not always have said it, but you make a Mother proud! Sweet, smart and caring! Sometimes I live through your eyes. Missing you and your love. Mom

Getting cooler, we need our snuggies!

Snuggie

I am going to get in my snuggie. I am a going to get with my lovey in my snuggie! Love to wrap up in my snuggie and run all around in my snuggie. Snuggie keeps me warm on the winter nights, oh love the snuggie. I have a pink snuggie and a blue one too. If you don't have you a snuggie, oh you need a snuggie!

Thank you

You gave without question and left loved ones behind. You shed blood and lost limbs and life as well, to save this great country of our's. Unselfish and caring is the only way to discribe a soldier, to the men and women who have given their lives. To the men and women whom are still out there fighting for us. I am thankful from the bottom of my heart for you!

Smile lines

Starring into the mirror and who do I see? A person I don't remember, lines where there never were. A smile is still there, where the extra lines lay. Because the inside in happy as can be. Overcoming so many things life has thrown at her. The face is older and unfamiliar from the youth of twenty years ago. Feeling old is all in the soul. My soul seems young, the mirror tells another story. It is bitter sweet you see. If you keep the youth and stay in the past, you won't ever gain the knowledge to grown and teach the others in your life. A pretty face is always nice, but a open heart and mind will get you so much further in the long run. So look in the mirror and read your road map of life. Smile with your lines. :)

Thankful

Thankful today for the love my family gives to me.
My first born baby boy. Almost 18! Where did the time go?

Sweet dreams

Where did all the time go? It seems like you were just born. I looked away and now your walking and talking with thoughts, all your own. You smile and my heart melts. You cry and I run to your rescue. You need me less and less these days, sweet boy. Playing, laughing and learning day by day. Before I know it you won't stay. You will grow before my eyes and like the one's before you off into this big world you will go. So why time sits still for a few minutes while you sleep. I will cherish the time no matter how short it may seem. Sweet dreams

Near or far

I think back to the day you left. You were with us just a few years, but a lfetime of lessons, you did teach. A mother is more then blood and can come from a caring lady, who loves and cares for you. Do not be sad for you left, to save yourself and son. No one is angry, God gave us what we needed, when we needed it,as he often does. He sent you back to me to fill the voids. You heart is golden and it shows in your smile. Time cannot erase love or tarmish it.

It is like we just picked back up where we left off. A new begaining, a new life to share. Great memories and new ones to make. A blessing is what you are to me. I thought of you often and still do. I hope the same rings true for you. Your loved far away and thought of as family always.

Thanksgiving

Turkeys and stuffing and sweet potato pie, soon to be here the day of Thanks. Smells of good gooking fill the air. Yummy, yummy, yummy for the tummy. Granny looking for her elastic pants and Grandpa taking a nap. Oh, the joys of the holidays are close. Shopping and cooking treats galore, is what this time of year is for. Give thanks unto the lord, then enjoy a turkey drum stick or two. Don't forget to get your rest after your feast. Black Friday is the morning after Thanksgiving. Wake up at 4 and head out the door. Shopping to start and crowds for sure.

A feather

The leaves on the trees blow away with the wind. Is that you, blowing them down the street. Could we meet? Will you show your face to me? Where did you go? I hear your voice in my ear, no that couldn't be, you have been gone way to long. I see your face in the clouds. I thought you were behind me, turned around and no such luck.

Where did you go? Is that you dropping a feather here and there, at my door step. A perfect white feather with a hint of your perfume, lingering from it. Are you trying to let me know your still near? Where did you go? I know you come and go, flying, floating and spreading Angel dust about. I feel you at times. I know your near, I sense you here and there.

Mission for November: One a day, thought of what I am thankful for. Thanksgiving is so close!

Today, I am thankful for the breath in my lungs!!
Please add what you are thankful for each day, if you like. I would love to know. :) Poetry in motion

Think before you speak

Sad words that cut like a knife, why do we hurt the ones we love. Open your eye's cause life is to short. Think before you speak words they say, can never hurt you, they can and will if from a loved one. Hold on tight and give up on meaningless fights. Love the ones your with and the ones far away. They may not be in sight but your heart always, if a true love it is.

Spoken words leave a lasting effect on people, so think before you speak. Speak with your heart of hearts and remember, you never know what is going on in someone elses life. Think before you speak and be strong don't be weak.  Sometimes this means being the bigger person.
